KARACHI: The Karachi University registrar has announced that the KU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has immediately rusticated the three students who were allegedly involved in the low-intensity bomb blast on campus on December 28, 2010.

The names of the suspects are Hafeezullah Khan, studying in the International Relations department, Syed Feyaz Ali of the university’s chemistry department (evening programme) and Muhammad Umer of the Food Science and Technology department.

These students are also debarred from entering KU under any pretext, according to the statement issued by the registrar on Saturday.

The vice-chancellor has warned that any KU student found involved in any terrorist activity cannot remain a student and will stand rusticated until a final decision by the court, the statement said.

Furthermore, if such a student has graduated and obtained a degree from KU, the degree will be cancelled. PRESS RELEASE
