Imran rules out privatisation of hospitals in K-P
PTI chairman says those holding strikes in K-P hospitals have no right to stay on their duty

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has clarified that no privatisation of hospitals was being carried out in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), saying those holding strikes in hospitals have no right to stay on duty.
“Reforms in the health and education sectors are being linked to privatisation by the federal government while we are only improving standards and management in these institutions,” Imran said while addressing a news conference in Peshawar on Tuesday.
He said the Essential Services Act was imposed as a result of the Peshawar High Court’s decision on December 7, 2015 and not by the PTI.

Almost 95% people are with the K-P government in its health reforms in the province, the PTI leader said, adding that lengthy deliberations were carried out before going ahead with the reforms.
Imran said action should be initiated against Adviser to Prime Minister Ameer Muqam for provoking doctors for a strike in K-P.
"I will request the K-P chief minister to register an FIR against Ameer Muqam for going to Hayatabad Medical Complex in K-P and provoking doctors to stage strikes."
Focusing on the privatisation issue of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the PTI chairman said, "We are not being explained why privatisation of PIA was necessary and why stakeholders were not taken on-board."
Imran said the national airline became a victim of political interventions and employment while professionals were not allowed to progress in the institution.
“The ruling PML-N must explain how they will get rid of Rs300 billion deficit in PIA as they have a history of mismanagement and nepotism,” Imran said.
