Anger management: Traffic inspector suspended for rowdy behaviour

FAISALABAD:

Chief Traffic Officer Sardar Muhammad Asif suspended the official in charge of directing traffic at the General Bus Stand on Monday. He is accused of beating up a rickshaw driver on Sunday.

Inspector Muhammad Rafiq Butt had beaten up Abdur Rehman, the rickshaw drover, near Lorry Adda while he was passing through the General Bus Stand.

After the incident, Rehman and his brother Imran gathered scores of rickshaw drivers and staged a demonstration to protest against the traffic inspector’s behaviour. Police said that Butt caught hold of Rehman and beat him up again. Police said that Butt had kicked and punched Rehman and had threatened him with dire consequences. Others at the demonstration managed to pull them apart. The CTO took notice of the incident and suspended Butt.
