Wheels of justice: Ex-DSP jailed for 12 years over corruption

PESHAWAR:
An accountability court on Monday awarded 12 years in prison to former DSP Rajab Ali and imposed a fine worth Rs14 million for amassing illegal assets. The court also announced a 12-year-jail term to Latif Hussain on charges of aiding the ex-police official. Accountability judge Zarqish Sani convicted Ali for accumulating illegal assets beyond his known sources of income. The National Accountability Bureau arrested the police official on April 19, 2014, after completing investigation against him. Both convicts were awarded seven years jail term for accumulating illegal assets and five years for misguiding the court for filing a fake property deed.
