Exorbitant Fares Action sought against private airlines
Advocate Imran Ghumman has filed the petition saying that the airlines have increased the fares up to 300 per cent
LAHORE:
A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) against the private airlines charging “exorbitant” fares in the wake of a strike by employees of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Advocate Imran Ghumman has filed the petition saying that the airlines, cashing in on the situation, have increased the fares up to 300 per cent. He accused the airlines of fanning the protest for their benefit. He said people were left with no option but to travel on exorbitant fares. He requested the court to order the Civil Aviation Authority to take action against the private airlines and direct them to rationalise their fares.
