At Jinnah terminal, only passengers of private airlines were seen taking flights

PIA joint action committee (JAC) continued their protest on the fourth day against the proposed privatisation. Employees also demanded justice for their martyred colleagues.
JAC spokesperson Nasrullah Khan Afridi told The Express Tribune that no one from the government has contacted them for any dialogue. Meanwhile, flight operation remained suspended, as all 38 aircraft remain grounded.
At Jinnah terminal, only passengers of private airlines were seen taking flights. PIA spokesperson Daniyal Gillani told The Express Tribune the stranded pilgrims will depart between February 5 and 8. He also confirmed that all expenses of the accommodation are being borne by the airline.
The PIA spokesperson also said they have finalised arrangements with Air Blue, Shaheen and Etihad airways to accept their confirmed passengers for domestic and international flights to various cities.
He added that international passengers may contact PIA’s service counters at airports to convert their tickets to these private airlines’ and all type of adjustment will be accepted according to the private airlines’ terms and conditions.
