Serious allegations: CCPO directed to probe petitioner’s claims
Five policemen had later arrested him after frisking him
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday directed the CCPO to look into the claims made by a Special Branch official in a petition seeking the registration of a case against six policemen including an SHO.
The judge directed the CCPO to conduct an inquiry and take action against the policemen if the assertions of the petitioner were corroborated. Petitioner Imran Khan had told the court that the policemen had been protecting terrorists and running a guest house where immoral activities were carried out. He said that the Special Branch was tipped-off about the presence of an Afghan militant and a woman at the guest house in Gulberg III.
He said he had reached the premises. Khan said the establishment’s manager had informed him that no such person was there.
He said he had spotted a white vehicle parked there which he was told belonged to Naseerabad SHO Saleem Sindhu.
Khan said he had started taking pictures of the car when the manager had called the official.
Five policemen had later arrested him after frisking him. Khan said they had later registered a fake FIR against him and seized his mobile phone.
He said he was acquitted the following day after being presented at a magisterial court. Khan said he had later gone to the relevant police station to have a case registered against the policemen.
He had also demanded the memory card of his phone to be handed over to him that was still in the possession of a police functionary.
