Reprieve: Three death-row convicts acquitted
The bench accepted the argument and acquitted the three convicts
RAWALPINDI:
A division bench of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench on Monday acquitted three death-row convicts for want of evidence. Mujahid Islam, Rashid Masih and Qaisar Masih were convicted for the murder of Muhmmad Zameer in Murree. They were booked on March 4, 2009. However, their lawyer Raja Ghaneem Abir maintained that his clients were arrested on mere suspicion, and that no incriminating evidence against them existed. The bench accepted the argument and acquitted the three convicts.
