Three-Day Conference: Translational medicine seminar held

This is a unique conference and it purports a platform for the eminent and brilliant minds

KARACHI: The second annual three-day international conference, titled ‘Translational Medicine: From Discover to Health Care’, kicked off on Monday at Ziauddin University. The conference is jointly being organised by the Ziauddin University and the European Society of Translational Medicine. Translational scientists from different countries, including Australia, United Kingdom, America, Germany and India are participating in the event. Speaking at the inaugural session, Ziauddin University research dean Dr Nikhat Ahmed Siddiqui said that the conference is quite important. “This is a unique conference and it purports a platform for the eminent and brilliant minds in the realm of translational medicine to present their findings and swap ideas for implementing proven strategies for treatment and prevention,” Dr Siddiqui added. Highlighting the importance of the science of the translational medicine, the university vice-chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui said that it will help keep researchers informed about advances across all disciplines. Translational medicine is becoming ever-more interdisciplinary, he added.
