Once again: Non-bailable warrants issued for Shahid Bikak

He is wanted in cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion. He was arrested in 2013

 A district and sessions court issued on Monday non-bailable warrants for the arrest of alleged gangster Shahid Bikak in a case pertaining to attempting to murder and attacking law enforcers.


District South additional sessions judge, Abdul Qudoos Memon, issued warrants for Bikak after the police submitted a report about the failure in apprehending him again.


Bikak, an alleged ring leader of a gang linked with Lyari, is absconding in a number of cases pending in anti-terrorism and other courts for past several months.


He is wanted in cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion. He was arrested in 2013 and later got bail in all of the cases.


He was appearing in court regularly, but then suddenly disappeared from the scene after reports surfaced that he was also behind the attack on Muttahdia Qaumi Movement leader, Rashid Godil, in which the former nearly escaped death while his driver succumbed to the wounds.


The court ordered the investigating officer to arrest the suspect and present them on next hearing on February 15.


Despite being wanted, the accused contested in local bodies polls for the post of a union council chairman in District Central.
