Four children die of measles, pneumonia

Health official says vaccination drive against both viruses will be conducted soon

At least four children have died of measles and pneumonia over the past week in Haleemzai, Mohmand Agency, a health official told The Express Tribune on Monday.


According to the official, three-year-old Saim died of pneumonia and measles. “Three of his cousins also died of the same viruses within days of Saim’s demise,” he said. “Two of them have been identified as six-month-old twins, Amar and Habiba. The identity of the third child has not been ascertained.”

The health official said a vaccination drive against both viruses will be conducted soon.
