Indigenous growth: IIL now making large diameter steel pipes, tubes

International Industries Limited (IIL) inaugurated its large diameter pipe mill, installed at a cost of Rs700 million, in Karachi on January 27, said a press release on Sunday.



This large diameter steel pipe manufacturing facility will allow IIL to produce hollow structural steel sections to modernise and reform the construction and engineering industry.


It will also allow IIL to cater to the increasing demand of pipes for the oil and gas industry for Tapi, Pak-Iran and LNG gas pipelines projects.


The plant was inaugurated by the managing director of SSGC, Khalid Rehman. A number of dignitaries attended the event including Counsel General of Malaysia Ismail bin Mohamad Bikri and general manager of Sumitomo Corporation Mr Sakai along with the Board of Directors of IIL.
