Eleven militants killed in Mohmand, Kurram

Security forces respond to attack on their camp in Mohmand, bomb militant hideouts in Kurram Agency.

PESHAWAR:
Eight militants were killed and eleven others injured when security forces shelled militant hideouts in Kurram Agency on Friday.

Mortar shells were fired by security forces on militant hideouts as sectarian violence continues in the agency.


Although authorities have announced that upper Kurram has been cleared of militants, pockets of resistance remain in lower and central Kurram. Security forces continue their operations to clear the area of anti-state elements.

Meanwhile, in Mohmand Agency, three militants were killed and two others injured after security forces retaliated to an attack on their camp near the Bhai Dog area. Before attacking the forces camp, the militants also destroyed a school building.
