Convocation ceremony: Isra University awards degrees to 375 students
Gold and silver medals also distributed among successful graduates

Around 375 successful graduates were awarded degrees at Isra University's 13th annual convocation on Saturday.
A total of 190 students of medicine, nursing and physical therapy programmes were given degrees while 155 students were awarded degrees of Bachelor's in business administration (BBA), computer science, electrical engineering, information technology and telecommunication. Five scholars were also given PhD degrees in management and medicine, while 25 students received postgraduate degrees.

As many as 104 MBBS graduates, 30 physical therapy students, 14 nursing, 39 BDS, 44 BBA, 17 Master's in business administration, 24 BE and 13 Bachelor's of software engineering students received their degrees. "Today marks a milestone in your career path," said Isra University chancellor Professor Dr Asadullah Qazi, addressing the graduates at the ceremony. Dr Qazi encouraged the students to steadfastly struggle to achieve objectives in their professional life. "After this day, the phase of serving the people and the country has started in your lives," he added.
The vice-chancellor Dr Ghulam Qadir Qazi said that the Isra University was the first private university that was established in Hyderabad in 1997. Since it was founded, some 7,165 students have been enrolled, while 2,994 have graduated. The varsity offers 35 degree programmes from bachelors to PhD.
UET convocation: ‘Engineering education needs to be modernised’
According to the VC, all the degree programmes have been recognised by the institutions such as Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and College of Physicians and Surgeons.
The successful students who received gold medals included Sana Hassan Rajper, Salwa Shaukat Ali Memon, Amir Khan Sahito and Iqra Aslam Pervaiz. The recipients of silver medals were Zohra Valliani, Afshan Abdul Aziz, Kainat Soomro, Farheen Abdul Karim, Faraz Ahmed Khan, Amir Ahmed and Shoaib Raza Gopang.
