Journalists in Nowshera protest over arrest of colleague

Wearing black arm bands, journalists demanded a judicial commission be made to inquire Farhat Shah's arrest

The deputy commissioner of Nowshera arrested on Friday Farhat Shah, a journalist in Nowshera, under MPO (maintenance of public order) and sent him to Haripur central prison for a month. Following the arrest, members of the Nowshera Press Club and District Union of Journalists Nowshera organised a protest and blocked GT Road. Wearing black arm bands, journalists demanded a judicial commission be made to inquire Shah's arrest. Press club and union president addressed the protesters.
