The power utility has disconnected their connections and served several notices to consumers

PESHAWAR:
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) issued a last notice to all those consumers in the city who have yet to clear their outstanding dues. Pesco threatened to give the names of all defaulter consumers to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further action. This was stated in a press release issued on Friday. According to the document, 16,000 consumers in the city owe Rs4.5 billion to Pesco. The power utility has disconnected their connections and served several notices to consumers, asking them to clear outstanding dues. However, defaulters have not responded as yet. The handout stated Pesco has now issued a last notice to them under the National Accountability Ordinance 1999 to clear their dues immediately, otherwise their names will be given to NAB for further action – arrests, fines and even imprisonment.
