FIA regional chief orders transfer of four officers
Demands that inquiry reports against the officers be presented at the earliest
KARACHI:
Taking serious notice of the charges of corruption and partiality against certain officials of commercial banking and the State Bank circles, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director Shahid Hayat has issued warning to the heads of the circles while ordering immediate transfer of four investigation officers.
These officers – commercial banks circle’s Inspector Rehmatullah Domki and Sub Inspector Muhammad Mansoor Khan Mohmand as well as State Bank circle’s Sohail Shaikh and anti-electricity and gas-theft task force’s Inspector Shabbir Chandio – have been asked to immediately report at Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
Top-level posting, transfers in Pakistan Army
Hayat has also ordered to expedite completion of the final reports of departmental inquiries against investigation officers of all FIA circles.
Inspector Rehmatullah Domki is accused of accepting Rs90 million as bribe and a departmental inquiry is underway against him as per court instructions. There is an allegation that Sub Inspector Mansoor Khan Mohmand dealt leniently with people allegedly involved in illegal transfer of millions of rupees through hundi and hawala.
According to sources, Hayat called to his office the heads of commercial bank and State Bank circles – additional Director Altaf Hussain and Deputy Director Mir Mazhar Jabbar – and asked them to present the inquiry reports against the allegedly corrupt investigation officers at the earliest. He said he would himself look into all allegations of corruption and take strict action against the culprits.
