Preparations underway: Thatta-Karachi road to be built
The FWO will maintain the road and collect toll taxes for 25 years
HYDERABAD:
Thatta deputy commissioner Nadeemur Rehman has asked officials to expedite the survey of public and private land required for the construction of the dual carriageway 49.5-kilometre Karachi-Thatta road. At a meeting on Wednesday, he directed the officials to complete the survey as soon as possible and submit a report to the Sindh Land Utilisation for compensation of the private land. The Sindh government and Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) have signed an agreement to build the road in a public-private partnership. The FWO will maintain the road and collect toll taxes for 25 years.
