Due punishment: Four men sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping
According to the prosecution, they kidnapped the teenage son of a businessman in Malir Cantonment

An anti-terrorism court sentenced on Wednesday four men to life in prison for kidnapping a teenager. Mujahid Ali, Amjad Ali, Kamran Ali and Sajjad were arrested on July 11, 2014, after an encounter with the police near Super Highway. According to the prosecution, they kidnapped the teenage son of a businessman in Malir Cantonment. During negotiations with the captive's father, the ransom amount was set at Rs700,000.

A week later, when the victim's relatives went to specified location, the police followed at a distance and sprung into action when the ransom amount was handed over.
During an exchange of fire two of the suspects were injured and the captive recovered. During the course of trail, both the victim and his father failed to identify the suspects. However, the police personnel who conducted the raid testified against the suspects. The judge found the suspects guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
