Busted: Proclaimed offender arrested
In 2010, the accused allegedly kidnapped Qazafai from the jurisdiction of East Cantonment police station

CTD officials stated on Wednesday they arrested a proclaimed offender. Police said the suspect was identified as Astana Khan, a resident of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency and was a fugitive wanted by the police for the kidnapping of Colonel Qazafai in 2010. It added the suspect was arrested in a raid in Regi town. Further investigation was under way. In 2010, the accused allegedly kidnapped Qazafai from the jurisdiction of East Cantonment police station but was arrested when law-enforcement officers raided a place in Dabgari Garden.
