The Bollywood heartthrob's selfie with Ali Zafar took the internet by storm on Monday and we just needed to know their whereabouts.

Is Sidharth Malhotra currently in Lahore?

A source close to the rockstar remained silent over the purpose of their meet and chose not to disclose whether the Student of the Year star was in Pakistan or not.

Alas! The secret of their brotherly reunion over a "dawat" has now been revealed. The two actually met to shoot the latest ad campaign for Sprite.

It all started when Ali invited Sid to entice his taste buds in the Old City of Lahore.

Excitement rose to a whole new level when the Bollywood actor responded with a promising yes.

Sidharth Malhotra coming to Pakistan on Ali Zafar's request?

But let's accept it, we have been smartly fooled since the two superstars had dropped subtle hints during their Twitter exchange.

Ali said in his video: "We will have some great food, 'spicy type'" and later tweeted: "Spice it is!"

"Spice" and "Mirchi Ka Tarka..." coincidence?

SODAHEAD

We knew there was something fishy when Sid posted a picture of a runway with a Thai plane standing stationary (are the two in Thailand, perhaps?) minutes before posting a selfie with Ali Zafar:

Ali Zafar, Sean Paul set to kick-off PSL in Dubai

It all comes down to the conclusion that the two met somewhere abroad and the Ek Villain actor never came to Pakistan.

But nice try though! Totally fooled half the nation.
