He said the livestock sector contributed 55% to the agriculture GDP
LAHORE:
A proper processing system can boost poultry exports from Pakistan to $2 billion, said University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice Chancellor Professor Talat Naseer Pasha. He said poultry products had great export potential particularly in the Middle and Far East countries, central Asian states and Russia. “Exports of poultry meat would improve the economic condition of poultry farmers, therefore, the government should pay heed and develop the processing system in cooperation with the private sector.” He said the livestock sector contributed 55% to the agriculture GDP and 12%, including 4% of poultry products, to the national GDP.
