Warning bells: 22 sites declared sensitive in Abbottabad
Home dept gives 30-day deadline, warns action if security not improved

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs department has declared 22 sites and installations in Abbottabad as sensitive and has asked the administration to improve security. The home department has also warned legal action will be initiated against those who fail to comply with the orders.
A notification issued by the K-P home department on Monday read that following the attack on Bacha Khan University, the provincial government instructed the authorities to improve the security of possible soft targets across the province.

It added locations which were declared sensitive included Ayub Medical College, Army Burn Hall Public School and College, Frontier Medical College, the passport office, Wapda grid stations, district courts, high court, University of Science & Technology Havelian, Comsats University, Bara Gali Campus of Peshawar University, Governor House Nathiagali, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House, Abbottabad Public School, imambargahs, churches and other places.
In the handout, the K-P home department notified the administration of all these places to ensure foolproof security by installing CCTV cameras, deploying armed security guards and securing the boundary walls by putting up barbed wires.

The department further asked them to ensure implementation of a security protocol within 30 days otherwise legal action would be taken against the officials responsible.
