RAWALPINDI:

A patient with symptoms of flu died at Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto Hospital on Saturday. However, whether the patient died of seasonal influenza had not been confirmed when this report was filed on Saturday as the patient’s blood sample report was still awaited.

Razia Umar, 30, was admitted to the hospital’s ICU ward. If confirmed, this would be sixth death of seasonal influenza in Rawalpindi.

Blood sample reports were also awaited for seven other patients admitted to BBH and Holy Family Hospital with symptoms of seasonal influenza. Isolation wards have been set up at all three Rawalpindi hospitals.
