Electricity Shortage: KE installs 1,800 new digital meters
The tripping ratio will substantially decrease and the voltage issues would cease to exist
KARACHI:
K-Electric (KE) has successfully completed the installation of its aerial bundle cables in Baldia’s Gulshan-e-Mazdoor. This area has more than 3,000 residential and commercial plots that have now been completely converted to anti-theft cables. It was previously infested with illegal electricity connections and hence categorised as a ‘very high loss’ area. KE has successfully installed 230 poles, 11 pole-mounted transformer and around 1,800 new digital meters in for the residents of the area. The tripping ratio will substantially decrease and the voltage issues would cease to exist, said KE spokesperson. At first, the residents showed resistance but after the first two successful phases of installation, it was the same residents who cooperated and appreciated KE’s endeavour, he added.
