Demolition work on the quarters of the Sindh Assembly was stopped on Saturday after some residents of the quarters asked for more time to shift their homes.
Authorities began bulldozing the houses located inside the assembly building's premises on Saturday morning, but stopped the demolition work following the pleas by residents of the quarters.
"We have no idea why the quarters are being demolished," said Aram Bagh police SHO Abdul Ghaffar Korai. "The assembly authorities only know about the demolition work," he added. The officer informed that the demolition has been postponed until Monday.
