Week-On-Week: SPI falls 0.26%

The SPI for the group stood at 207.83 points against 208.38 in the previous week

ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 21 registered a decrease of 0.26% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 207.83 points against 208.38 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.32% from 217.67 points in the previous week to 216.97 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 3.63%. During the week, average prices of 14 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 13 items rose and rates of remaining 26 goods recorded no change.
