In custody: Suspected extortionist held
The man reportedly confessed to his association with a banned outfit

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested suspected extortionist Faridullah, a resident of Bahadur Qala, in Mathra on Friday. Complainant Dr Muhammad Naeem from Daudzai lodged an FIR with police against unidentified people who were calling him, demanding Rs5 million. They threatened him with dire consequences if the amount was not paid. After the FIR was registered, a CTD team started investigation and identified the culprit. He was arrested and shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. The man reportedly confessed to his association with a banned outfit.
