Is Amy Schumer a joke thief?

It all started when stand-up comedian Wendy Liebman tweeted that the Inside Amy Schumer actor stole her joke on her HBO TV series. What soon followed were a host of other comedians who claimed that Amy had stolen their jokes too.

Although Wendy has since deleted her tweet, she pointed out that Amy had copied her joke; and on a similar note uploaded a meme which used her joke without credit -- the image having nothing to do with Amy.

This led fellow comedian Chuck Martin to tweet that he had had a similar experience, followed by a personal attack by stand-up comedian Tammy Pescatelli.

Tammy has since apologised for accusing actress Amy Schumer of stealing jokes. Stopping by Jim Norton Advice Show on Thursday, Pescatelli admitted that she "went too far" over the matter, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"I went too deep. It went too far, and for that I'm super apologetic," Pescatelli told Norton.

She said that she first noticed the similarity between her and Schumer's jokes when she saw the trailer for Trainwreck.

Which she compared to Amy's joke in Trainwreck:

"I was the last to the party and I drank the most and was the loudest. I probably should have just stayed out of it and kept my mouth shut," she added.

She realised that it might just be parallel thinking and Amy might have never seen her show that contained the said jokes. Tammy also agreed that Amy had "every right to be mad".
