KARACHI: Unidentified men on a motorcycle threw a locally made hand cracker at two police vans in Nazimabad on Thursday evening. The incident took place when the police personnel of Gulbahar police station were stationed near Sports Complex situated near the Nazimabad flyover. “Our jawans (policemen) were busy conducting snap-checks when assailants on motorcycles threw a hand cracker from the flyover,” said SHO Shakeel Ahmed, adding that no one was hurt as the cracker bomb hit the wall and not the cops or the mobiles. The attackers managed, however, to escape. Extra contingent of law enforcers reached the site and collected evidences, while bomb disposal squad also reached the site. Police officials said that nothing can be said yet about the group behind the attack. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
