Parts of Punjab, K-P and Islamabad without electricity as grid stations trip
Parliament House also experiences outage for a minute during Senate, NA proceedings
ISLAMABAD:
Parts of federal capital and several districts of Punjab, as well as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa suffered power outage as grid stations tripped for the second time in less than a week on Thursday, Express News reported.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif said power stations in Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujranwala had tripped causing blackouts.
"Efforts are underway to restore the system," he added.
Half of Lahore, other parts of country left without electricity
Meanwhile, the Parliament House also experienced an outage for a minute when separate sessions of Senate and National Assembly were underway.
Earlier on Friday, half of Lahore and large swaths of the country were left without power as intense fog and humidity caused a shutdown of Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district grid station.
