The Race Course police had lodged an FIR against eight men

LAHORE:
A Cantonment court magistrate on Wednesday ordered police to release three men held for kidnapping and gang-rape of a girl. Police brought Qamarul Zaman, Ameer and Muhammad Umar before the magistrate. Police said that the DNA report had showed that the three were not involved in the assault and requested the court to release them. The magistrate reserved verdict on bail applications of five other suspects in the case. On December 26, the victim, a resident of Multan Road, was reported kidnapped. She was later found abandoned in a local hotel. A medical examination showed that she had been raped. The Race Course police had lodged an FIR against eight men.
