Actor was asked if Aamir would like to work with her, 'considering her background', in a recent sexist interview.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan stepped up to Sunny Leone’s defense, saying he would love to work with her, while commending her conduct of “grace and diginity” during a recent cringe-worthy interview with CNN-IBN.

Khan was among countless other celebrities extended their support to Sunny, who happens to be a former porn star – as fact CNN-IBN anchor Bhupendra Chaubey was intent on discussing.

In the interview, the journalist asked whether a megastar like Aamir would want to work with her, considering her background in pornography, and if she would want to work with him knowing that he "probably" wouldn't.

The Jism 2 actor took the questions like a good sport and remained calm. Her graceful demeanor and spirit impressed Khan so much that the PK star took to social media to laud her and give his full support.

"I think Sunny conducted herself with a lot of grace and dignity in this interview. I wish I could have said the same about the interviewer.

"And yes Sunny, I will be happy to work with you. I have absolutely no problems with your 'past', as the interviewer puts it. Stay blessed. Cheers. Aamir," the actor posted on his Facebook page.

Sunny acknowledged Aamir's support with a re-tweet, which read: "I think my heart just dropped seeing this! Thank you so much for the support. It means the world and beyond to me."



Upon reading Aamir's tweet on showing interest in working with her, the actor was overjoyed: "Wow you just made my whole year saying that! I was just happy you wrote me back. Respect you dearly!"



Sunny, who made inroads into Bollywood with Jism 2, is awaiting the release of her new film Mastizaade. The interview with Chaubey was for the promotion of her upcoming comedy.

The interview was tagged as "disgusting and sexist" by a string of celebrities, who expressed support for Sunny.

Talking to Bombay Times, Sunny defended her choice of staying during the course of the entire interview by saying she would "never walk out of an interview".

"I will never walk out of an interview. I will face my problems. I am a fighter. I don't usually lose my cool. I was raised by my parents this way," she said.

On the obnoxious questions and the way the journalist conducted the interview, Sunny said, "I had not seen his shows before so I didn't know what I was walking into. I don't have anything bad to say about him. It's not in my nature to do so. People are curious. Everyone has a certain style and sensibility. I've made my independent choices. Maybe they are not conventional, so I will have to answer those questions to the best of my ability. I've never held back."

She concluded by saying, "You have to move forward with a smile on your face."
