LAHORE:

The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will organise an international job expo during March, a statement issued on Tuesday said.

The event will be organised in collaboration with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). Presiding over a meeting with the authority’s functionaries, Tevta Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said the event was being organised to provide job placements to thousands of skilled workers at a single venue. The chairman said the Tevta, NAVTTC and the PVTC had decided to collaborate over the initiative to play a role in developing a skilled workforce for the province. He said the event was being organised with the objective of absorbing skilled workers across local and international industries.

Sheikh said multinational corporations from Malaysia, South Korea, countries across the Middle East and Europe would conduct on-the-spot interviews for vacancies there. He said an entrepreneurial hub exhibition and a career counselling conference would also be organised alongside the expo.

Sheikh said those already imparted vocational training by the Tevta, the PVTC and the NAVTTC would be invited to attend the event.
