LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday framed charges against four people for raping a two-year-old child and later murdering her. The court has now summoned prosecution witnesses on January 23. An FIR was registered by Amjad Pervez, the father of deceased, with Nishtar Colony police. Pervez stated that one of his neighbours had told him that his daughter had died after receiving an electric shock on their roof. A subsequent police investigation had revealed that Shahzad, a deaf and mute neighbour, had raped and murdered the child. According to Shahzad’s statement, he had strangled the child after raping her on his rooftop. His wife later tried to cover up the crime by giving the body electric shocks. They told the child’s family that she had accidently touched an electricity wire and died.
