Sindh opts for uniform sermons
A uniform Friday sermon will be repeated in mosques across the province
The Sindh government has decided that a uniform Friday sermon will be repeated in mosques across the province.
Abdul Qayyum Soomro, the adviser to Sindh chief minister on religious affairs, confirmed to The Express Tribune on Monday that the government had in-principle decided to unify the sermons at mosques in the province in order to promote harmony.

The government, Soomro said, will now invite various religious parties and consult them on a unified sermon.
Soomro hoped that all religious parties would back the move and will be satisfied with the final sermon.
He added that once the sermon is finalised, those who chose not to read it during Friday prayers would face strict action.
