Under attack: Policeman injured in Swat

Wahid was rushed to the hospital where his condition was said to be critical

SWAT:


A police official was injured Monday morning in Tahirabad area of Mingora, Swat. Police official Noorwali Shah said ASI Wahid Khan was on duty at Tableeghi Markaz in Tahirabad when armed, and as yet unidentified, motorcyclists opened fire on him at Bhatti Chowk and fled.


Wahid was rushed to the hospital where his condition was said to be critical. However, he had to be transferred to a hospital
in Peshawar.


The Pakistan Army joined the Swat police in the search operation across Swat but no suspect was arrested till the filing of this report.


Later, a banned outfit claimed responsibility for the ambush. Two police personnel were gunned down by unidentified assailants on January 11, 2016 in Dherai area of Kanju UC.
