Public Awareness Seminar: 12% Pakistanis suffer from diabetes

The impact of diabetes can be minimised by controlling obesity, glucose, hypertension and dyslipidemia

KARACHI: Around 12 per cent of the country’s population is suffering from diabetes and an equal percentage has pre-diabetes. Most of these patients also have hypertension. The impact of diabetes and its related disorders can be minimised by controlling obesity, glucose, hypertension and dyslipidemia. Experts shared these thoughts at an awareness seminar on ‘The Role of Diet in Diabetes and Hypertension’ at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences at the University of Karachi on Monday.
