One Direction fans thought the British-Pakistani TV host was trying to hit on the 21-year-old singer.

The British-Pakistani TV personality Saira Khan is making headlines again for a Twitter spat with Harry Styles' fans.

The Loose Women host faced abuse and severe backlash from One Direction fans after she tweeted a seemingly innocent message to the singer.

She met Harry while filming for Martin Lewis’s ITV Money Show and took to Twitter to share how it made her day:



She also asked him if he would like to make an appearance on her show:



But ID fans and hurled all sorts of mean accusations and racist comments at her. They even told her that she had HIV and was like “cancer” herself.

The Apprentice star said she was "shocked" at "fans reaction and language" adding:  “Young people have committed suicide as a direct result of being trolled on social media – I am shocked to see what people write and say.”








The 45-year-old called the trolls out on Twitter first, but when they didn't stop she reported them to the police. “I have printed off every single tweet from 1D fans who used abusive, insulting language and sent it to police. I’ll name and shame.”

Saira called the fans who trolled her “cockroaches” for targeting her and said they were “nasty, vile” kids.



However, no reaction has been seen from Harry Styles' side yet.

Earlier, the TV star was in the news for claiming that she was sexually assaulted by a gang of men in Pakistan while filming a BBC documentary in 2007.

She talked about it on Loose Women, saying she was surrounded by men who groped and pressed up against her as she tried to shoot the documentary, and she was eventually rescued by a member of her crew.
