Two more children died in the drought-hit Tharparkar on Saturday. The death toll of infants and children in the area has increased to 48 in a fortnight but the health authorities confirm only 22 deaths in 15 days. Two-year-old Waleed Otho died in Tayab Otho village. According to his father, Shabir Otho, his son suffered from a breathing problem and he was getting medical treatment from a private health practitioner. A newborn, son of Hamza Kabar, breathed his last at a private hospital in Mithi. The district health officer Arjun Kumar confirmed 22 deaths in the past two weeks.
