SARGODHA: A meeting of Kinnow Growers Association chaired by Abid Mumtaz Warraich was held to review the problems being faced by growers. The meeting was attended by Citrus Research Institute director Altaful Rehman and various other association members. The participants of the meeting showed reservations over the low rates in the market. Rehman briefed participants about the modern way of pruning through which the risk of pests and diseases would be lower. He said that most farmers were unaware of the modern techniques of cultivation causing low yield of Kinnow. The association demanded the government to take solid steps to support the citrus industry in the area as farmers were unable to even meet the production expenditures.
