ACE Shangla recovered Rs783,434 misappropriated in the construction of a middle school in Manrai in the district

On the directives of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Director Ziaullah Toru, the department recovered over Rs5.7 million from contractors in two different cases.


Said Alamgir Khan, an ACE official from Shangla, shared this with The Express Tribune on Thursday.

He added contractors Aghosh, Mujeeb and Rauf compromised on the quality of work on various projects in different areas in Shangla.

in the district.

The anti-corruption establishment also recovered about Rs5
million from the contractors responsible for constructing the main building of Government Polytechnic College and a student hostel.

Alamgir said the contractors used substandard material i.e. low quality cement, steel, electrical accessories and paints in the construction.

“Strict action will be taken against those who misappropriated the
funds allotted to them,” Alamgir said.

The ACE official added investigation on 20 more cases was under way and funds from these defectors will be recovered soon.
