People-to-people exchange: University students to visit Japan next week
Another 28 Pakistani students will visit Japan under the programme from January to March 2016
ISLAMABAD:
A delegation of 15 Pakistani university students and a supervisor will visit Japan from January 17 to 27 under the “Japan-Saarc Network Program of People-to-People Exchange (Jenesys)”.
University students from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) member countries have been invited by the Japanese government to participate in the programme.
Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata handed over travel documents to the selected students at an orientation ceremony held at the embassy, here on Wednesday.
The embassy, in collaboration with the Mext Alumni Association of Pakistan (Maap), selected the students, who represent the four provinces of Pakistan.
Under the Jenesys 2.0 Programme announced by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, 77 Pakistani high school and university students were sent to the East Asian country in 2013, while 82 students visited Japan in 2014.
Another 28 Pakistani students will visit Japan under the programme from January to March 2016.
