Micro level industry: More ‘mini industrial areas’ needed
President SCCI pointed out that there is only one small industrial estate in Sialkot
SIALKOT:
There is a need to establish well organised mini industrial areas to cater to the needs of the area’s business community. This was stated by the president of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Major (retd) Mansoor Ahmed, on Wednesday. He said the mini industrial areas would provide employment opportunities to workers and help expand the radius of industrial sectors. He pointed out that there is only one small industrial estate in Sialkot. “We are focusing on reducing the cost of production, and obtaining modern technology for this purpose. More common facility centres would be established with the active support of Commerce Ministry and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to facilitate the Small and Medium Enterprises of the area.”
