Oil and gas: Companies assessing potential of 26 finds
They said 2015 had been a breakthrough year in the energy sector due to commencement of first-ever LNG terminal

Oil and gas exploration companies operating in the country are evaluating around 26 discoveries, made in different localities, to determine the exact potential of the new finds, officials in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources said. “Discoveries under evaluation have an estimated over one trillion cubic feet (tcf) of reserves,” they said, adding that 67 new oil and gas discoveries had so far been made. Sui Southern Gas Company and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines said they were vigorously undertaking system augmentation projects to carry additional volumes of gas up to 1.2 bcf at a cost of Rs133 billion.
