ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned Customs authorities’ plea against a decision of the Special Judge Customs Rawalpindi in connection with model Ayyan Ali’s passport ‘sapurdari’ case, for a week.

Justice Athar Minallah adjourned the appeal due to unavailability of the litigant’s counsel. The bench was informed that Latif Khosa, counsel for Ayyan, and the prosecutor were both engaged at the Lahore High Court.

Justice Minallah, while directing the litigants to ensure their presence in the next hearing, adjourned the matter for one week.

It is pertinent to mention that the case was filed by customs through Abdul Wahid Murawat, additional collector modal customs collectorate.

Earlier, Farhat Abbas Lodhi, counsel for Customs, had argued that the passport was key evidence in money laundering case worth of US$ 506,800.
