Man shot, injured during robbery

45-year-old deprived of Rs50,000 during the incident

Two dacoits shot and injured a man for resisting a robbery attempt at Dhoke Syedan, in the jurisdiction of the RA Bazar Police Station.

The robbers deprived the injured victim of Rs50,000. Rescue 1122 officials moved the victim to the district headquarters hospital (DHQ) for medical treatment.

According to officials, 45-year-old Faiz Akram s/o Shah Muhammad, withdrew the cash from a private bank located on Dhoke Syedan Road. He was said to be returning home when the two robbers riding a motorcycle intercepted him.

It is believed that one of the robbers got off the motorcycle and tried to snatch the cash from Faiz, who is said to have overwhelmed the robber.


During this scuffle, the second robber is said to have shot Faiz to rescue his accomplice. The bullet hit the victim’s leg.

Local residents called Rescue 1122, which moved the victim to the hospital.

When contacted, SHO RA Bazaar Haji Tariq confirmed the incident, and said that police were trying to trace the robbers.

He said that the police have also registered a case.
