The court has also issued notices to relevant officials to appear before the court on January 26.
The petitioner, Haji Muhammad Ishaq through his council Chaudhry Asadur Rehman, had filed a petition in the court stating the commissioner had issued a notice to his client for non payment of a CVT of Rs814,800. The petitioner claims that he had registered his power of attorney on April 28, 2011.
The petitioner argued that a power of attorney does not mean shifting of rights. He added that receiving tax from a caretaker is unjust and illegal.
He prayed the court to declare the notice null and void.
After hearing the case, Justice Khan temporarily suspended the order and issued notices to Nawaz, district registrar Rawalpindi and the deputy secretary of the Lahore Board of Revenue to appear before the court on January 26.
