Rape-murder case: Suspects’ judicial remand extended
Three other suspects were arrested a week later.
RAWALPINDI:
A local court has extended judicial remand of four suspects for their alleged involvement in a gang-rape cum murder case.
A 24-year-old *woman was allegedly raped before being killed in an apartment building in the jurisdiction of Rawat Police Station on November 21, 2015. Police said the victim was thrown out of the apartment’s window.
Police had arrested One of the suspects, identified as Umair, the same day in an injured condition from the premises while reportedly trying to escape. Three other suspects were arrested a week later.
They were produced before special magistrate Naveed Iqbal Tarar on Monday, who extended their judicial remand till January 15. The court directed the police to complete investigation and produce the charge sheet against the suspects at the next hearing.
