PESHAWAR:
Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) MPA Bakht Baidar Khan said on Sunday his legal battle with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was set to rage on.

Baidar, former minister for industries, commerce and labour, was sacked from the provincial cabinet on November 13, 2013 along with minister for environment Ibrar Hussain Tanoli.

The two QWP ministers were removed over charges of corruption. Following the sacking, the party decided to part ways with the government and sit on the opposition benches.

However, QWP rejoined the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government. An insider told The Express Tribune Qaumi Watan Party’s top brass failed to convince the MPA to withdraw his petition against Imran.

Baidar told The Express Tribune he would stand firm and not withdraw the case.

Replying to a question, he stressed no party leader tried to force his hand. “I will fight the case at every cost.”

Senior Minster for Irrigation and QWP Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Sikandar Khan Sherpao told The Express Tribune his party never discussed the issue at meetings and had other matters of national interest to deal with.
